The Home
We provide 24 hour care and assistance for our residents, with all bedrooms and communal areas fitted with a Nurse Call alarm system should any resident require assistance at the touch of a button.
Living in a residential care home can never be quite the same as living in your own home, but we work hard to maintain several aspects of home life to make our guests feel that they belong here. We provide an in house laundry service and all our meals are freshly home-cooked in our well equipped kitchen; we believe life at Holly Lodge is much like life with an extended family.
We work hard to maintain our residents’ independence and quality of life, offering facilities for guests to pursue their personal hobbies, just as they would at home, and offering a range of group activities to promote the social side of residential care.
Popular activities include armchair hockey, skittles, quizzes and bingo among other games, and many of our residents rediscover a competitive side to themselves! Of course TV, quiet reading places, handicrafts, arts and the company of others are constantly available.
We organise regular trips to local town centres, which allow our residents the opportunity to peruse the shops without worrying about how they would manage the journey home on public transport. There are also annual day trips to places of interest such as Aylesford Priory or Herne Bay; which can be the first holiday new residents have enjoyed in years!
No-one wishes to be forced out of the independence of living in their own home by old age, but the residents of Holly Lodge soon realise that their quality of life is greatly improved by moving here, as they can enjoy the freedom to come and go as they wish without the anxiety and risks of living alone.
